"Residents for Council-Manager Government"
claim we do not want the strong Mayor to be able to be investigated by
the Board of Ethics.
FACT: The only wording change in this entire section is this
subsection:
"4. In cooperation with the City Manager (MAYOR)
and Council, the Board may provide a continuing program of education
and information for members of Council, officers and employees of the
City, and members of any board or commission of the City with regard to
ethics, conflicts of interest and other matters involving performance of
official duties."
It simply replaces the phrase "City Manager"
with "Mayor". All other wording is exactly the same as the
current charter!
Does this mean that the Board of Ethics can never
investigate the City Manager? If so, we better fix this right away!
